THE MISSION BEHIND THE SERIES

mental health
/ˈmɛnt(ə)l hɛlθ/

noun

a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community

- World Health Organisation

We believe that transparency is the catalyst for change. Through creative storytelling we all have the ability to share our own stories, in order to shift perspective and bring hope to those who have lost theirs.

Our core mission is to share the heartfelt stories of Australia’s unsung heroes at the grassroots level.

To highlight the bravery and transformation that is available when we come together in unity.

To showcase the generosity of everyday Australians as they recreate life from ashes.

To showcase a transformation in mindsets that saves lives.

We want to reaffirm the value of volunteering to community well being and ensure that social connectedness is at the forefront of conversation, so our community of Gippsland feels supported.

We want to connect people from outside of the region to the stories of those who have come through the disaster, to build hope, trust and allow those suffering to avoid isolation.

To reinforce suicide prevention initiatives.

To profile the leaders of this change and inspire more to follow in their footsteps.

Finally, we want  to celebrate new beginnings!
